JOURNALISM STORIES

I believe that using photos to tell stories is the best way to connect people, to issues and ideas but mostly, to other people. I have separated years of work into three categories; photo essays, travel photos and feature images.

Photo Essays

In a world full of Twitter news headlines and stories that are over as quickly as they began, I cherish the art of a long form photo essay. I believe in taking the time to get to know people and uncover their story. A photo story has the power connect people despite physical and social differences and I love seeing my work influence the way people think about people, places and social issues.

Travel Stories

I have been so lucky that my photography has allowed me to travel so much, not just in Africa, but to Asia, Europe and North America. Many of my images are simply street portraits and landscapes documenting the people I have met and places I've seen.

Featured Images

Sometimes you only need one image to tell a story. This is a selection of some of my favourite editorial images taken over the last few years. they are mostly portraits because I love photographing people, and mostly taken in South Africa.
