Jerusalem Ministries is a non-profit organisation based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, South Africa and run by a lovely couple called Derrick and Di Darlow. They describe themselves as having two arms, their Restoration Ministry and the Human Dignity Centre.
The Human Dignity Centre
The Human Dignity Centre encompasses various upliftment projects involving the Walmer Township (Gqebera) Community.
These Project range from the Community Based Orphanage, Early Childhood Development Centre, Human Dignity School,Aftercare and Feeding to Aids Support Groups, the Kwasa Training Centre and the Sukume Museum & Xhosa Cultural Centre.
I spent a little while visiting a few of these projects in the community, namely the Early Childhood Development Centre, the Human Dignity School and the Feeding program and it was fantastic to see not just the amazing work being done, but how the many of the men from the Restoration Ministry have found so much purpose and pleasure in ministering here.
While this project is doing amazing work, Di and Derrick are often uncertain about where the food or finances will come from on a day to day basis. If you would like to get involved with your time, money or food donations, check out their website here: http://www.jmin.org.za
