Frontier Lodge is a Christian wilderness adventure centre set on the edge of Fish Lake, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, and is the place that I was lucky enough to call my home for 8 months.
The Lodge runs summer camps, school camps, mountain biking festivals. weekend retreats and adventure weekends but it is so much more than that - their aim is to use the amazing beauty of the Rockies to teach children and adults more about nature, themselves and the God who created it all.
I worked at the camp as a program staff member but also spent a lot of time photographing the activities and working in the office managing the photos, newsletter and social media. All images I took have been used for brochures, pamphlets, website, social media and printed advertising. Frontier Lodge offers a huge array of activities and I learnt a lot about photographing adventures sports - rock climbing, tyrollean traverse, abseiling (or rappelling to the Canadians), white water canoeing, mountain biking, caving, hiking, fly fishing, ice climbing, winter survival courses.
It was amazing to see both children and adults challenging themselves, overcoming fears, having adventures and exploring the incredible landscape that is the Canadian Rockies.
